Our Story

Altea began long before we ever called it a business. It started in a small Macedonian town where my mother spent her days doing what she loved most. She ran a burger shop, a pizzeria, and even a bakery. She poured her heart into every dish and built a reputation for food that brought people together.

When we moved to Australia, life became about starting over. My mother worked hard, but she never had the space to share the talent and passion that defined her back home. Her recipes stayed in our family kitchen, cooked with love but hidden from the wider community.

Altea is our way of changing that. It is a chance for her to finally show her craft and to bring the flavours of the Balkans to Canberra. Every dish is made with the same care she has carried with her all her life. This is not just catering. It is our heritage, our memories, and our way of inviting you to our table.
